It is the first third-party logistics company (3PL) to fully roll out the accreditation scheme across its contractor base. SafeContractor is regarded as one of the UK’s leading health and safety accreditation schemes, with over 30,000 contractors and 400 clients.
Alcumus will work directly with Wincanton’s contractors to provide training and guidance, as well as support through the accreditation process. The aim is to have all of Wincanton’s preferred suppliers accredited by 1 April 2019.
Dean Clamp, Group Health & Safety Director at Wincanton, said:
"We are a safety-first business – and this applies to our employees, our customers and to members of the public that we come in to contact with.
"As part of this commitment, we are the first 3PL to fully adopt SafeContractor across the board to assess and accredit our preferred suppliers, ensuring compliance through our supply chain."
Gemma Archibald, Managing Director for Alcumus SafeContractor, said:
"At SafeContractor, our team goes above and beyond to ensure we provide the best service possible for our customers.
"We are delighted to be supporting Wincanton with their safety-first mission and to help them become safer, healthier and stronger."
