Wincanton has renewed its contract to provide transport services to British Sugar. This will extend the relationship between the two companies to six years.
Wincanton will continue to transport products from British Sugar’s sites in Wissington and Newark, completing daily warehouse to retailer deliveries across the UK, as well as transfers between factory sites.
Wincanton will also manage planning and scheduling of these deliveries from its own site in Corby. Mark Haslam, Head of Logistics at British Sugar said:
“When selecting a commercial partner, it is crucial to know they are as committed to anticipating and meeting the needs of customers as we are.
“Wincanton has shown that it strives to match our own levels of excellence through the duration of our relationship to date, so we’re excited to continue to work together.”
Chris Fenton, Managing Director of Industrial & Transport at Wincanton, said:
“Renewing this contract is evidence of the effectiveness of our solutions. We are looking forward to further building on our relationship with British Sugar and are committed to helping them provide the excellent service their customers expect.”
British Sugar produces around half of all sugar in the UK and is the country’s sole maker of sugar from homegrown sugar beet.
