Wincanton's eCommerce Robotics Solution Nominated for Multiple Innovation Awards
Wincanton has been acknowledged as a Retail Gazette Awards ‘Supply Chain Gamechanger’ at the same time as being nominated for multiple Robotics & Automation Awards.
The three award nominations recognise Wincanton’s delivery of the first multi-user deployment of autonomous mobile robots in the UK. Synergistic customers, including well known and fast-growing brands in UK mid-market eCommerce, have all benefited from high volume throughput of this shared user solution.
The nominations also reflect Wincanton’s collaborative partnership with Japanese consumer goods manufacturer Kao and its prestigious brand Molton Brown, who have benefitted from the AMRs ability to handle micropeaks efficiently.
As a result, Wincanton and Molton Brown have been shortlisted alongside major retailers including Sainsbury’s, Shein, boohoo, Pets at Home and Costa Coffee as a Supply Chain Gamechanger at the Retail Gazette Awards, which take place on 18 October.
Wincanton and Molton Brown have also been nominated for two Robotics & Automation Awards: The Best Use of Robotics or Automation in Retail Award and the Warehouse Innovation Award. The inaugural ceremony takes place on 31 October.
This success builds on Wincanton and Molton Brown being nominated for Best Use of Robotics at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards earlier this year.
Carl Moore, Managing Director for eCommerce at Wincanton, commented:
“Our long-standing relationship with Kao Corporation, which sees Wincanton provide a broad range of multi-channel logistics services across its brands, is based on our ability to scale, innovate and diversify.
“Receiving four award nominations this year is testament to the collaborative approach we share with Kao and Molton Brown in meeting the needs of its customers.
“I wish everyone the very best of luck at the ceremonies later this year.”
Scott Merrick, Product Director, Automation and Robotics at Wincanton, added:
“These recent award nominations are great recognition for the success of the first multi-user deployment of AMRs in the UK in the past 12 months.
“Innovation is at the heart of what we do at Wincanton, and we are thrilled that our unique solution has been recognised alongside the most innovative businesses in the UK.”
