Wincanton success in general merchandise and infrastructure recognised at industry awards
Wincanton has been recognised at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) 30th Awards for Excellence for its long and strong partnerships with B&Q and EDF, as the leading supply chain partner to UK business reaches the final three shortlisted in two operational categories:
Warehouse Operations Award: Driving efficiency for B&Q through a major automation project
Wincanton’s long-term partnership with B&Q, alongside warehouse automation experts Logistex, has seen the completion of a major project for B&Q at their Distribution Centre in Worksop, UK. The solution, which brings together a range of technologies, is operated by Wincanton on behalf of B&Q and represents a long-term strategic partnership between the two companies.

“Working in a live operational warehouse during the pandemic posed significant complexities, particularly as there was strong demand from B&Q customers during the implementation period. However, these were overcome by a collaborative approach, focused on successful project delivery, and the proactive management of project challenges by all stakeholders.”
Operations Management Award: Guaranteeing accuracy, security and transparency for EDF’s £26 billion construction project
As the official warehouse and transport service partner for the ten-year construction of Hinkley Point C nuclear power station in Somerset, UK, in 2022 Wincanton continued to invest funds in innovation and time in collaborative working with HPC and its stakeholders to not just safeguard the supply chain, but to improve and accelerate its efficiency.
